Privacy Policy
Healthwave's mission is to bring the possibilities of the Internet to healthcare.  We offer medical billing and claims repricing services that involve user access to one or more of our "Customer Access Portals," which includes, but is not limited to ovation2k.com, iodashboard.com, and cvonet.com.  Our customers include doctors and other healthcare providers, hospitals, IPAs, PHOs and PPOs ("Licensees").  We recognize that our continued success derives from establishing confidence among the Licensees we serve, as well as keeping their interests foremost in mind.

Accordingly, Healthwave is committed to protecting Licensees' online privacy and security.  In general, the only information Healthwave obtains about a Licensee to any of our Customer Access Portals is information supplied voluntarily by that user.  Information supplied by a Licensee that could be employed to identify or contact that user, such as name, e-mail address or other similar information ("Personal Information"), will not be disclosed to anyone unless the Licensee indicates that Healthwave may do so.

The following describes our policy as to how we handle the receipt and transmission of information on any of our Customer Access Portals:

    Disclosure of Personal Information
Healthwave will not disclose to unaffiliated companies any Personal Information about Licensees, or any Personal Information contained within e-health transactions.  Any Personal Information provided to affiliates of Healthwave will be treated in accordance with the terms of this Privacy Policy.  Healthwave may release Personal Information to third parties to comply with law or to protect the rights, property or safety of Healthwave and Licensees.

    Registration
Healthwave Customer Access Portals require Licensees to register before accessing any portion of the Customer Access Portal.  Registration includes the collection of contact information such as user name and e-mail address and password.  Information provided by users is necessary for us to provide the information or service being requested.

    IP Addresses
An IP address is a number assigned to a computer for accessing the Internet.  All computer identification on the Internet is conducted with IP addresses, which allow computers and servers to recognize and communicate with each other.  Healthwave collects IP addresses in order to conduct system administration and conduct site analysis.  If a user requests pages from any Customer Access Portal, Healthwave logs the user's IP address.  Healthwave may use IP addresses to identify any users who refuse to comply with our Terms of Service, and to identify users who threaten our service, site, or Licensees.

    Cookies
Healthwave may place a text file called a "cookie" in the browser files of a user's computer. Cookies are pieces of information that are transferred to an individual's hard disk for record keeping purposes.  Healthwave uses cookies to confirm that access to one of our Customer Access Portals is authorized.

    E-Health Transactions
Healthwave's Customer Access Portals employ applications to collect data to facilitate e-health transactions.  This data will only be transferred to third parties as part of the transaction processing service agreement a Licensee voluntarily enter into with us.  Healthwave may store this information to verify the transaction for customer service and accounting reasons. Healthwave may partner with other companies to provide specific subscription services to our customers.  It may be necessary to share Personal Information with these partners or affiliates in order to provide services to Licensees.

Personal Information about an individual contained within e-health transactions, reports and other summaries derived from e-health transactions, or within administrative information necessary to conduct e-health transactions, that can be used to identify or contact that individual will be protected by Healthwave as "Individually Identifiable Health Information" in accordance with the requirements and definitions of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) of 1996 (Public Law 104-191) and any implementing regulations.  Healthwave will also observe all other state and federal laws relating to transmission, storage, and access to medical records and other healthcare data.

    External Links
Healthwave may provide links to various third party Web sites and e-health services.  However, even if a third-party affiliation exists between Healthwave and that destination site, HEALTHWAVE EXERCISES NO AUTHORITY OVER LINKED SITES AND SERVICES, EACH OF WHICH MAINTAINS INDEPENDENT PRIVACY AND DATA COLLECTION POLICIES AND PROCEDURES.  HEALTHWAVE ASSUMES NO RESPONSIBILITY OR LIABILITY FOR THESE INDEPENDENT METHODS OR ACTIONS AND IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR THE INDEPENDENT POLICIES OR PROCEDURES OF DESTINATION SITES. SIMILARLY, HEALTHWAVE CANNOT TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE PRIVACY INITIATIVES OR THE CONTENT OF SUCH SITES AND SERVICES.  THESE DESTINATION LINKS AND SERVICES ARE PROVIDED ONLY FOR THE CONVENIENCE OF OUR LICENSEES, AND AS SUCH, THEY ARE ACCESSED AT THE USER'S OWN RISK.

    Security
Healthwave combines industry-standard technical safeguards with employee policies to help prevent the loss, misuse or alteration of Personal Information under our control.  Only authorized Healthwave employees, agents or independent contractors are permitted to access Personal Information, and all such employees, agents and independent contractors must agree in writing to abide by Healthwave's Privacy Policy.  Those who violate this Privacy Policy are subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination.  Healthwave employs strict security measures to safeguard online transactions; Personal Information is stored in secured systems and is always encrypted when sent via Internet channels.

Despite these security measures, HEALTHWAVE DOES NOT REPRESENT OR WARRANT THAT PERSONAL INFORMATION WILL BE PROTECTED AGAINST LOSS, MISUSE OR ALTERATION BY THIRD PARTIES.
